AMOXYL-50
AMOXYL-50
A New Alternative for Amoxicillin Oral Medication in Poultry.
Specific problems are posed by oral medication: stability of the active ingredient, homogeneity of the formulated powder, distribution in the water, and cross-contamination due to dust emission These problems can have two major consequences treatment failure and a risk to human health with a selection of resistant strains.
CEVA Matrix Technology, an exclusive CEVA Sante Animale manufacturing process, matches all expectations of an effective and modern Oral Medication. CEVA Matrix Technology consists of an innovative protective granulation technology. Most non-protected oral medical formulations available in the market do not provide good stability and may not reach efficient concentration as the active ingredient is not protected enough.
- The CEVA Matrix Technology guarantees that the active ingredient is protected during manufacture Formulating) and storage of the medicated water without altering its bioavailability.
- The micronization micro granulation, and matrix coating of the active ingredient ensures the active ingredient is dissolved fully into the water and remains as a homogeneous solution and is protected even after 1 2 hours. This perfect solubility and protection of potency ensures the right active ingredient concentration and dosage in the body throughout the treatment.
Consequently, treatment failure resulting from unequal dosage distribution of the active ingredient in the body and organs is considerably limited.
- CEVA Matrix Technology guarantees that the active ingredient in the water does not lose its potency by cross-contamination between other medicated water channels in the poultry farm and inhalation of antimicrobials by users. It protects the workforce and reduces the risk of selecting resistant strains.
AMOXYL-50
AMOXYL-50 is a water-soluble presentation of amoxicillin. Thanks to exceptional solubility, the treatment may be accurate in dose and perfectly defined in the time length on the very animals that have been targeted. Teeyem Animal Health has at heart to offer solutions that can be used following good veterinary practices.
Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic penicillin with a broad bactericidal activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The range of effects includes Streptococci, not penicillinase-producing Staphylococci, Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium spp., Clostridium spp., Brucella spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp., Moraxella spp., E. coli, Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Fusiformis, Bordetella spp., Diplococci, Micrococci and Sphaerophorus necrophorus.
The bacterial activity is governed by an inhibition of the formation of the cell. The excretion takes mainly place via the urine and bile so amoxicillin is also useful for the treatment of renal and Salmonella infections in the intra-hepatic biliary tree.
Properties
Amoxicillin is a half-synthetic penicillin. The main advantages of Amoxicillin are broad-spectrum antibiotic, bactericidal action enhanced, excellent diffusion, and high concentration in all tissues. Pulmonary tropism is important. Amoxicillin is poorly metabolized. It is largely eliminated by the kidneys into the urine under its active form. Acting at a very early stage on microorganisms in their active multiplication phase, Amoxicillin is recommended for acute disease as first intention treatment.
Absorption and Distribution
- Amoxicillin (AMOXYL-50) is rapidly absorbed from the GI Tract after oral medication.
- Intake of feed or water has no effect on amoxicillin(AMOXYL-50) absorption.
- Amoxicillin reaches peak serum concentration in 30 minutes after oral administration.
- The MIC 90 of Amoxicillin (AMOXYL-50) achieved is almost twice for the amoxicillin-sensitive Spp.,
Composition
Contains per gram Amoxicillin (as Trihydrate) 500mg
Indications
Amoxyl-50 is effective against infections caused by micro-organisms sensitive to amoxicillin like gastrointestinal infections, respiratory infections, Clostridia infections, local inflammations, and secondary bacterial infections during viral diseases in poultry.
Chickens: Staphylococcal infections and Colibacillosis. Reduction of mortality and morbidity due to Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Gangrenous Dermatitis due to Clostridium spp.
Contra-Indications
Do not use for treatment of infections caused by penicillinase-producing Staphylococci.
Administration Route
Oral, in the drinking water.
Dosage
Chickens: 20mg Amoxicillin/kg b.w./day, equivalent to 0.1 g of AMOXYL-50/kgb.w./ day, for 3 to 5 days. However, it is recommended to split the dosage into two equal parts and provide this medicated Water only.
The dosage and/or duration of treatment may be increased at the veterinarian's discretion.
To ensure the correct dose, the product's concentration should be adjusted according to the daily consumption of water.
